Dashboard Managers Onboarding Guide

PrinciplesUs is a product designed to enhance team dynamics through better self awareness and understanding of others.

At the heart of PrinciplesUs is our personality assessment, developed by Ray Dalio, and leading psychometricians, Drs. Adam Grant, Brian Little, and John Golden. Our assessment brings together their diverse expertise, combining best-in-class assessment frameworks and leading personality science, to provide individuals with an extensive picture of how they prefer to think, engage with others, and apply themselves.

PrincipleUs not only empowers teams to learn more about themselves by reflecting on their assessment results, but also enables teams to learn more about each other through 1:1 comparisons and team visualizations, with the goal of being able to work together more effectively and achieve better organizational outcomes.

Through time, we have found PrinciplesUs to be a great tool for coaches and/or consultants to facilitate more meaningful and effective engagements with their clients. What we’re calling Principles for Coaches was designed to enable coaches and/or consultants to use PrinciplesUs in a more seamless & scalable way across clients.

The Coaching Dashboard provides a one-stop-shop where coaches and/or consultants can set up client accounts quickly and easily, and manage those accounts on an ongoing basis. This is just the first step on our journey to better support coaches and their clients, and we hope to continue iterating over the next few months.

If you do not have an existing account with us…

1. Contact us at support@principles.com and we will invite you to the application. You will need to indicate the following:

    1. The name of your internal coaching practice / organization.
    2. The names (and emails) for anyone else on your team who we should add to your Coaching Dashboard. By default, you will be made a Dashboard Manager and any additional coaches that you add will only be able to view and/or manage clients that you explicitly grant them access to.

Can I make other coaches a Dashboard Manager?

Yes, as a “beta” feature, since it is not fully supported yet / working in the way we would like it to. If you choose to have more than one Dashboard Manager, all Dashboard Managers will be able to add new clients, manage billing information across clients, and view all client names. However, by default, all Dashboard Managers are not given access to manage all client accounts / view their data and can only grant other coaches access for client accounts that they’ve set up (unless permissioned accordingly).

2. You will receive an invitation from support@principles.com. Click “Setup my Account.”

3. Create a new password and sign-in to the application.

4. Upon sign-in, you will have access to the Coaching Dashboard and related features.

5. Setup your first client by clicking “+New Client.”

If you do have an existing account with us…

1. Contact us at support@principles.com to give you access to the Coaching Dashboard and related features.

We will also need the following information to migrate any existing accounts:

  • Which of your existing account(s) are being used for client engagements.
    • If there are other people in your practice who currently have access, you will need to indicate whether or not you’d like them to retain access, and what level of access they should have (User or Admin).
  • Which of your existing account(s), if any, are being used with your own team / for your coaching practice internally.

2. Once we prompt you to log back in, you will see the Coaching Dashboard and that we have migrated any existing clients into the dashboard view. If you identified an account that you’re using with your own team / for your coaching practice internally, this account will stay “as is” under “Switch Team.”

What will change and/or what might you want to let your clients know?

  • Billing (updating payment methods, adding seats, etc.) will now be managed by you, as the Dashboard Manager, from the Coaching Dashboard. All billing-related functionality previously in the Administration tab will be disabled within your client’s accounts.
  • For client accounts migrated to the dashboard view, any existing Admins will be demoted to Non-Admins. We do not currently support the ability for you to give a client Administrative access. Only Dashboard Managers and coaches granted Admin access to a specific client’s account will have Administrative access (the ability to add seats from the Coaching Dashboard & access the Administration tab within a client’s account).
  • We have also created email templates for you to utilize when notifying both external clients and internal coaches of the changes they can expect to see.  You can find that PDF at the following link: Emails to leverage
